The Dental Assistant/ Patient Care Rep provides clinical support to facilitate the relationship between our patients and dentists, increase the efficiency of delivering quality dental care and maintain communication between dentists, patients and administrative staff to ensure a positive patient experience.   Along with providing administrative support to facilitate the relationship between our patients and dentists.  With a focus on exceptional patient service, the Dental Receptionist is the front line to patient communication, assisting the patient in the necessary administrative functions of dental care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with patients in a positive, professional manner both in person and via telephone.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Review treatment plans and educate patients on procedures, financial responsibilities, and post-operative care.
  • Accurately verify insurance benefits, communicate payment obligations, and collect payments.
  • Maintain and manage patient records from initial intake through billing, ensuring accurate data entry and strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and requests for information promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures.
  • Expose radiographs and intra-oral images as needed.
  • Prepare, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments in accordance with CDC, OSHA, and infection control protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain dental supply inventory.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and flexibility in assisting different providers based on practice needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology 
  • C.D.A. preferred 
  • Possess required certifications, licensure or registration as required by the state
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clear speaking and telephone voice
  • Positive attitude and energetic personality
  • Comfortable in a computerized environment
  • Ability to multitask
