The Regional Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations, is responsible for leading and owning the operational, financial, and human capital performance of all dental practices within the respective region. The role serves as a key liaison between executive leadership and practice-level teams, ensuring consistent execution of organizational strategies, operational excellence, workforce management, and sustained profitability. The Regional Manager supervises each Practice Manager within their region while partnering closely with Dental Directors and centralized support teams to drive performance while maintaining high standards of patient care, compliance, and culture.  

 

 

Responsibilities

Required Responsibilities: 

  • Is Responsible for the financial health of all assigned dental practices within the region and drives all necessary improvements based on Key Performance Indicators. 
  • Drives financial metrics, such as profit-and-loss and EBITDA statements,  to develop and execute profitable growth. 
  • Reviews provider and hygiene production with RCD and Hygiene Leadership Team, drives necessary improvements with the clinical teams.  
  • Works with the finance team to forecast and establish budgets. 
  • Presents monthly financial performance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.  
  • Monitors billing, coding, and collection processes to maximize reimbursement and cash flow, holding practices accountable for optimization.  
  • Provide direct oversight and leadership to practice-level teams. 
  • Effectively translates strategic goals into actionable, manageable, and measurable tasks. 
  • Holds Practice Managers and Dental Directors accountable for executing plans through regular check-ins and performance feedback. 
  • Supports Practice Managers with effective performance management of clinical staff – coaching, counseling, performance reviews, employee development plans, and corrective actions plans as needed. 
  • Ensures adherence to company procedures, policies, and compliance standards. 
  • Fosters strong engagement and culture through consistent leadership and communication consistent with company policies and values. 
  • Manage schedule to allow for regular field visits (no less than monthly) to each practice for the purposes of: Meeting with Dental Directors, Practice Managers, and practice teams to review practice performance, operational growth, and general office concerns/issues.  
  • Facilities Management: Takes ownership of facilities-related issues by anticipating problems and proactively driving timely resolution, regardless of centralized ownership. 
  • Communication: Responsible for disseminating company communication and messaging of initiatives and all pertinent information with all Practice Managers and teams. 
  • Timely, concise, and effective communication. 
  • In partnership with Human Resources, owns the following: 
  • Identifies patterns or recurring concerns to implement proactive solutions that improve employee engagement and reduce future issues. 
  • Supports leaders and employees by providing guidance on performance, conduct, and workplace expectations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. 
  • Establishes and monitors annual goals and objectives for employees in the practice. 
  • Executes performance reviews and required PIPs and IDPs. 
  • Acts as a coach for practice leadership ensuring high performance outcomes. 
  • Manages and executes the onboarding of Practice Managers and all practice staff including clinical staff. 
  • In partnership with Recruiting, owns practice level staffing.  
  • Taking action to ensure practices are adequately staffed (opening reqs with all required details, interviewing candidates, supporting the offer process). 
  • Designs and executes workforce planning strategy to ensure timely engagement with staffing. 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or >5 years of multi-site operational leadership experience; dental or healthcare industry preferred.                                    Skills & Competencies  
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret P&L’s and KPI’s 
  • Proven track record of leadership, coaching, counseling, and team development skills. 
  • Strong communication and resolution skills.  
  • Proven track record of experience providing root-cause analysis and  solutions execution. 
  • Organized, data-driven, and execution-focused.  
  • Sound judgement, discretion, and professionalism. 
  • Proven track record of developing competencies in business place software and embracing new technologies 
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Proven track record in executing complex business decisions and navigating challenging employee conversations. 
  • Operating with high accountability, ownership, and a strong sense of urgency.
